Shield Crush to 1.
An interesting card that should have been available in this era. For now, it will be limited to 1, although it may be moved to 3 in the future.
Winged Rhynos to 1.
An interesting option, especially for WIND decks.
Abyss Kingshark to 1.
A card that arrived late to the game. For now, we will see how it impacts the format.
Skreech to 1.
A card that arrived late to the game and provides support for WATER strategies.
Surface Aqua Jet to 1.
An interesting card to boost WATER monsters, especially since the attribute lacks strong Special Summoning options.
D.D. Warrior to 2.
This card is very powerful, and considering that D.D. Warrior Lady is at 1, we believe it should remain at least at 2, with the possibility of being limited to 1 in the future.
That said, looking at most decklists, very few players run it at 3 copies, so it shouldn’t cause major issues.
Koa'ki Meiru Sea Panther to 2.
Among all decks, WATER has the fewest offensive options. Therefore, we are increasing this card to 2 copies to better balance it with the rest of the metagame.
Dark Magic Curtain to 3.
After several discussions, it was decided to keep this card at 3.
Elemental HERO Phoenix Enforcer and Elemental HERO Shining Phoenix Enforcer to 3.
More support for HERO decks; even so, they will remain a fun strategy.
Exarion Universe to 3.
This card has been tested multiple times, and the results show that it has no real impact on the metagame.
Some players use it, but with 1800 ATK, most prefer options like Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer. Defensively, there are also stronger alternatives such as Clavkiys with its balanced 1900 stats.
Overall, it is occasionally used to pressure cards like Scapegoat, but not much more.
For this reason, we have decided to unlimit it to 3 copies.
Swift Birdman Joe to 3.
Virtually no one plays this card, so it remains at 3.
Black Veloci to 3.
This Dinosaur sees very little play; most players prefer more solid and consistent options like Sabersaurus or Megalosmasher X. Therefore, we consider it fine at 3.
Elemental HERO Darkbright, Mudballman, and Rampart Blaster to 3
Some of these monsters were released in 2005 but are not part of the GOAT format, while others came out even later. In any case, none of them are strong enough to impact the metagame, so we consider it safe to unlimit them to 3.
It’s a great time to play WATER monsters.
